Terms of Service

Please read these terms carefully before using 0deg. By using the Service you agree to be bound by them.

Last updated: July 10, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the 0deg website, web application, APIs, and related services (collectively, the “Service”), operated by the 0deg team (“0deg”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. The Service

0deg is a non-custodial interface to a smart-contract protocol on the Stellar network that lets users (“Navigators”) create location-based tasks (“Quests”) with rewards held in on-chain escrow, and lets other users (“Scouts”) complete those Quests and receive the rewards. The Service provides a user interface, off-chain validation, proof storage, and indexing, but all value transfer is executed by the smart contract on the Stellar network, which we do not control once deployed.

The Service operates on the Stellar mainnet, where transactions involve assets of real monetary value. Separate test deployments may exist on the Stellar testnet, where assets have no monetary value. Features, parameters, and availability may change as the protocol evolves.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, whichever is higher) and legally capable of entering into binding agreements. You may not use the Service if doing so would violate applicable laws, including sanctions and export-control laws, or if you have previously been suspended from the Service.

4. Wallets & Non-Custody

  • You interact with the Service using your own Stellar wallet. We never hold your private keys, seed phrases, or funds, and we cannot recover them, reverse your transactions, or move escrowed assets outside the rules of the smart contract.
  • You are solely responsible for securing your wallet. Anyone with your keys can act as you on the Service, including taking Quests, approving payouts, and receiving rewards.
  • Authentication is performed by signing messages with your wallet. Signing a login message does not authorize any transfer of funds.

5. Quests, Escrow & Fees

  • Escrow. When a Navigator creates a Quest, the reward is transferred to the smart contract. Release of the reward is governed exclusively by the contract: approval pays the Scout, while rejection, cancellation, and deadline expiry refund the Navigator.
  • Protocol fee. A fee of 5% of the reward is deducted at payout on approved Quests only. Stellar network fees apply to every transaction and are paid by the signer.
  • Between users. Quests are agreements between the Navigator and the Scout. 0deg is not a party to any Quest, does not guarantee the quality, safety, legality, or completion of any Quest, and, in the current protocol version, does not arbitrate disputes beyond the review-and-deadline rules enforced by the contract.
  • Finality. Blockchain transactions are irreversible. Approving a Quest, rejecting proof, or cancelling a Quest are final actions once confirmed on the network.
  • Trustlines. Receiving certain assets (e.g. USDC) requires an asset trustline on your Stellar account. The Service warns about missing trustlines where possible, but maintaining required trustlines is your responsibility.

6. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • create Quests that request illegal, dangerous, harassing, or deceptive activity, or that would require entering private property without authorization;
  • submit fabricated, misleading, or plagiarized proof, or spoof your device location;
  • use the Service to launder funds, evade sanctions, or transact on behalf of prohibited persons;
  • upload content that is unlawful, infringing, or contains malware, or content depicting identifiable people without a lawful basis;
  • interfere with the Service, including probing or attacking our infrastructure, scraping at abusive rates, or circumventing rate limits and validation;
  • use the Service in any way that violates applicable law.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you submit (Quest descriptions, proof files, notes, avatars, usernames). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and transmit that content as needed to operate the Service, for example showing proof files to the Quest’s Navigator or displaying your public profile. Upon an approved Quest, you grant the Navigator a license to use submitted proof for the purpose contemplated by the Quest.

You represent that you have the rights to any content you submit. We may remove content that violates these Terms, but we do not pre-screen content and are not responsible for it. Note that data recorded on the Stellar ledger (addresses, amounts, Quest state) is public and permanent and cannot be removed by anyone, including us.

8. Assumption of Risk

By using the Service you acknowledge and accept:

  • Smart-contract risk: contracts may contain defects; upgrades may introduce changes. On-chain interactions can result in total loss of transferred assets.
  • Market risk: XLM and other assets fluctuate in value; USDC depends on its issuer maintaining redemption.
  • Physical risk: completing real-world Quests is at your own risk. Use judgment; decline Quests that appear unsafe or unlawful.
  • Counterparty risk: Navigators may reject work; Scouts may fail to deliver. The contract bounds these outcomes but does not eliminate them.
  • Network risk: the Stellar network, wallets, and third-party services we rely on may be unavailable or behave unexpectedly.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, THAT DEFECTS WILL BE CORRECTED, OR THAT ANY QUEST WILL BE COMPLETED OR PAID.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, 0DEG AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR DIGITAL ASSETS, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE PROTOCOL FEES YOU PAID TO THE CONTRACT IN THE 12 MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD 100. SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO PARTS OF THIS SECTION MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless 0deg and its contributors from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your Quests or proof submissions, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

12. Suspension & Termination

We may suspend or restrict your access to the Service (including delisting Quests and disabling profiles) at any time for conduct that violates these Terms or poses risk to other users or the Service. Because the protocol is non-custodial, suspension from the interface does not and cannot confiscate on-chain assets: escrow already locked continues to follow the contract rules. You may stop using the Service at any time.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be indicated by updating the “Last updated” date on this page, and where practical, by notice in the app. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Disputes arising from these Terms or the Service that cannot be resolved informally shall be submitted to the competent courts of Indonesia, unless mandatory law in your jurisdiction provides otherwise.
